I can understand lack of familiarity with calf fries, aka Rocky Mountain Oysters. Not many folks have availed themselves of the experience beyond cowboys, sheep-herders and the occasional fraternity pledge.

But reaching maturity and only now encountering chicken fried steak for the first time is simply un-American! It is a staple of red states and truck stops even in blue states.

Dear Breda, we had a BLAST hosting ya'll, and it was well worth the efforts, by all accounts.

Farmmom is still walking on cloud nine over the reactions to her cooking. Farmdad is still grinning ear to ear over the antics of folks on the range and how much enjoyment people got out of it.

And credit is going where it is deserved, I honestly did more fetching and carrying and helping during the final prep than anything else. My claim to fame in this case is issuing the invitations.
