The group believes that one half of the world's population is at risk and plans on using music and sports as a catalyst for change. Their goal is to motivate young leaders to transform how women and girls are treated "in every country, in every city, in every home around the world."

Sigh... More kum-by-yah crap. I'm waiting for them to take their classes to countries like Saudi Arabia or A-stan, where women are treated like cattle as a matter of religion, or Red China where girls are routinely killed due to the "one child" policy. My guess is that it'll never happen. Groups like these are much more interested in beating up on Western metrosexuals for not paying a woman as much as her male counterpart who has twice as much job experience, holding doors for women, or furtively scoping out the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition while picking up their GF's tampons at the supermarket.

And just how do these yahoos think that women SHOULD be treated? I'm guessing that the old-fashioned ideas that a man should protect women, treat them with courtesy BECAUSE they are women, and eschew hurting them as unmanly are not on the program.

And, of course, the part they fail to mention is that just about the only country importing minerals from Zimbabwe at the moment is China, who now manufactures almost all of the electronics we use in the west.

The progressive movement convinced us to off load our industrial base to China and Mexico in order to reduce costs and improve the standard of living in impoverished regions. In return we in west have received record-breaking levels of unemployment in conjunction with government takeover of our largest banks and car companies while in Africa they have seen the collapse of what was once the most stable economy on the continent.

Pardon me if I no longer trust progressivism and their collectivist delusions. The only way to help the women in "areas that produce conflict minerals" is to stop listening to progressives.

Mugabe held the collectivists in his country fully in check until American and European industries stop buying his minerals. As soon as China became Zimbabwe's major export market, the collectivists grew in power, the economy declined, and Mugabe became a tyrant. This is not a coincidence. This is the natural result of progressivist policy implementation in Europe and North America.

Zimbabwe is the end-game for progressivism. That is the result we will see globally if we do not reverse the trend.
