A fallacy of forced choices. Start with a framework that allows for not options and you can pre-dispose the result.

Is it possible to be intelligent and neither obsessive or socially inept? Obviously it is.

Is being professionally driven, i.e. ambitious, being obsessive? Does that rule out social grace?

I like to consider myself reasonably intelligent (they gave me some parchments at a couple of schools and let me teach at others), I don't think fighter pilots are socially graceless (although we can be) yet there is no dweeb, nerd or geek in a fighter squadron usually. Where would a fighter pilot, college teacher, author on a major city library board of trustees fall?

Forced choices don't fit.
